Mike Morgan & the Crawl
Live Blues Show
MVBS.org presents Mike Morgan and the Crawl live at Pour Bros. Craft Taproom in Moline on June 15 from 2pm-5pm. Born in Dallas in 1959, Mike discovered his passion for music early, influenced by the soulful sounds of Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett. He began to take guitar playing seriously after encountering Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “Texas Flood” in 1985. Morgan’s distinctive style quickly evolved, and in 1986, he formed The Crawl with vocalist Darrell Nulisch. Their collaboration exposed Morgan to the Chicago blues scene, and the band gained a reputation for their original blues songs and powerful performances.
After Nulisch’s departure in 1989, Morgan partnered with Lee McBee, whose vocals and harmonica skills enriched the band’s sound. The collaboration led to national recognition and a series of successful albums. Despite a period of reduced touring after 2006, Morgan continued to play locally and pursued a career in the motorcycle business. Recently, Morgan has returned to music, reinvigorated and writing new material. This is an outdoor show, weather permitting. If inclement weather occurs, the show will be moved inside to the Craft Taproom. Admission is free, so run, don’t crawl to Pour Bros. Craft Taproom in Moline on June 15 from 2pm-5pm, and hear what the blues is all about!
