The Beaker Brothers Band
Live Blues Show!
Tickets are available at the door. $12 MVBS members. $15 nonmembers.
The first rule of The Beaker Brothers Band was you had to be at least fifty years old to join. The second rule of the Beaker Brothers Band was you couldn’t quit until you were over sixty. Nearly twenty years later, what do they do, now? Ha! I guess they’ll just keep on rockin’.
The Beaker Brothers Band was founded by veteran Eastern Iowa musicians: Steve Grismore, Dan Hummel, James Dreier, Dan Bernstein, Ed English, and the late John Shultz. Later, Bill Peterson and Steve Prottsman were added. They continue to celebrate the spirit of the original jam-bands and honor the legacy of the Beaker Street radio program. Hosted by Clyde Clifford on KAAY from Little Rock, Beaker Street is still the home of “alternative rock”, from before that was even a thing.
With two guitarists, two drummers, bass, and two keyboardists, Beaker Brothers are even better able to re-create the classic music of Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, the Doors, Neil Young, CCR, Little Feat, James Gang, Rolling Stones, Beatles, and others, including the Allman Brothers Band. Head to the Moline Viking Club on Sunday, July 21 at 4pm for a musical trip back in time!
