Shawn Kellerman
Celebrated Blues Artist!
MVBS.org presents Shawn Kellerman, who is entering his third decade as one of Canada’s most celebrated blues guitarists. Known for his incendiary riffing and genre-blending approach, Kellerman’s latest album, Kell’s Kitchen, showcases his most dynamic work yet. The 14-track release includes standout originals like “SKB,” “Drivin,” and “Show Me What You Got,” born from a Texas writing trip, and features appearances by Grammy-winner Bobby Rush and harmonica ace Jason Ricci.
Raised in Kitchener, Ontario, Kellerman was mentored by blues legend Mel Brown at Pop The Gator, his father’s club. That early foundation led to stints with Bobby Rush and Lucky Peterson, launching a career that has seen Kellerman perform in over 46 countries and tour nearly 200 nights a year.
Kell’s Kitchen includes personal tracks like “Down By The River,” written during a trip to Greece, and fun collaborations like “Mac & Cheese.” It also pays homage with covers of Little Milton and The Guess Who.
Kellerman’s fiery live shows and evolving musical vision reflect his passion for all shades of the blues. With Kell’s Kitchen, he honors his mentors while pushing the genre forward with fearless originality.
