Sean McKee Band
Live Blues Show
MVBS.org has partnered with the Xtream Rock Island Grand Prix to present the Sean McKee Band. Sean was born in 1996 in the Chicago suburbs, is a blues guitarist and singer-songwriter deeply influenced by the electric blues of the 1950s and 60s. He began playing music at a young age, initially drawn to drums but quickly gravitated to the guitar, where his passion for vintage instruments and classic blues took hold. Early experiences, like sitting in with Anthony Gomes at age 13, cemented his desire to pursue a career in music. After honing his skills under the mentorship of Joe Moss, Sean launched his own band and has since played with legends like Buddy Guy and Jimmy Johnson.
This is our last event for summer season so don’t miss the Sean McKee Band playing outdoors at Schwiebert Park in Rock Island on Aug. 31 from 4pm-6pm. Don’t forget your lawn chairs! This is a free event and donations are appreciated as MVBS.org prepares for our 40th anniversary concert in 2025! Stick around for the Kilborn Alley Blues Band from 7pm-10pm.
