Morry Sochat and The Special 20’s
Free Blues Show!
MVBS.org welcomes Morry Sochat and The Special 20’s to Pour Bros. Craft Taproom in Moline on June 1, from 3pm-6pm. The band bring a high-energy blend of classic Chicago blues, swing, and 1950s rock ‘n’ roll to the modern stage. Inspired by legends like Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Junior Wells, and Louis Jordan, they serve up a fresh, vintage sound that pays tribute to the roots while keeping the vibe alive and kicking.
Originally from Texas, Morry Sochat (pronounced Socket) moved to Chicago in 1990 and began playing harmonica a decade later under the guidance of renowned blues educator Joe Filisko. After cutting his teeth in local bands like The Shakes and Tongue & Groove, Sochat formed The Special 20’s in 2005, quickly gaining traction with their acclaimed self-titled debut.
With each release, the band has expanded its sound and lineup but continues to evolve while staying true to the feel-good grit of Chicago blues.
See you at the Pour Bros. Craft Taproom in Moline on Sunday, June 1, from 3pm-6pm. There will be a 50/50 raffle so get there early for tickets. Admission is free.
