Chicago Blues Angels
Live at Quinlan Court
Join us for some great Blues and BBQ! The Chicago Blues Angels bring a blistering Chicago sound to Quinlan Court in Davenport, IA, on August 23rd. The show starts at 5 PM at the corner of Brady Street and River Drive in downtown Davenport and is a FREE event sponsored by the City of Davenport and MVBS.org.
American Roots Music, Blues, Rockabilly & Rock n Roll with a whole lotta soul is the best way to describe The Chicago Blues Angels. They bring old-school, traditional music to the forefront with a high-energy attitude. Featuring Chicago-legend Mondo Cortez on guitar, and Mighty Blues King, Jerry DeVivo on sax, together, they create a highly combustible mixture of danceable grooves. So bring your chairs, but don’t plan on sitting down!
Mondo Cortez has played with Nick Curran, Kim Wilson, and the Fabulous Thunderbirds. He has also shared the stage with Buddy Guy, Jimmie Vaughan, Otis Rush, Willie “Big Eyes” Smith, Dave Meyers, Kid Ramos, and Eddie Taylor Jr., and some of the famous rockabilly bands, such as The Paladins, Hillbilly Casino, Nick Curran, and the Nightlifes.
Jerry DeVivo is one of the founding members of the Mighty Blues Kings (1996-2006). MBK put out five albums during that time and toured the lower 49 states, including Ireland, England, Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, Italy, and Canada. Jerry has also shared the stage with Tony Bennett, Ray Charles, BB King, John Mellencamp, Pete Townsend, Huey Lewis, Eddy Vedder, The Spinners, Jimmy Vaughn, and Buddy Guy.
