John Resch & Doggin’ Out
Live Blues Fundraiser
MVBS.org and the Gypsy Highway in Davenport are sponsoring a fundraising event for John Resch and Doggin’ Out on Sunday, Nov 10, from 3pm-6pm. The band recently won the Iowa Blues Challenge in Des Moines and are heading to Memphis, Tennessee for the Blues Foundation’s 2025 International Blues Challenge. A 50/50 raffle will be held and additionally, another ticket will be drawn for a very nice gift basket, which includes a 2-hour Doggin’ Out concert at the place of your choice. The funds raised at this event are to help offset the band’s travel expenses in January. The opening band will be The QC Blues Allstars, featuring; Ricardo Burris, Chris Avey, Randy Leasman, and Bryan West.
About the band: Based out of the Iowa/Illinois Quad Cities, John Resch and Doggin’ Out is a swing/jump blues quartet led by vocalist/bassist, John Resch. Influenced by swing/jump blues, they have pushed into the musical stylings of Little Charlie and the Nightcats, Rod Piazza and the Mighty Flyers, Mike “Hollywood Fats”, Big Joe Turner, Amos Milburn, and T-Bone Walker.
This direction has prompted Resch to pursue his lifelong ambition of playing the upright bass, further helping to define the new unit’s sound. Check out their debut show.
We’ll see you at the Gypsy Highway in Davenport on Nov. 10 from 3pm-6pm! Tickets are $10 and are available at the door.
