Mississippi Valley Blues Society Launch New Web Site and Re-Branding

To celebrate the 36th Anniversary of the Mississippi Valley Blues Society, the all-volunteer, non-profit organization which preserves and celebrates Blues music has created a new web presence. With a newly-created video vault of previously unreleased footage of past Blues Festival artists on stage, in MVBS Workshops and BluesSkool events, dating back to 1984, and a long-overdue update of its brand, and one of the longest established Blues music education programs in the U.S., the MVBS is broadening its reach to Blues fans everywhere. The new web site: www.mvbs.org, offers an entirely new menu of interactive features and benefits. Also, in collaboration with WQPT-TV, a documentary on the history of the MVBS will air on WQPT-TV at 8 pm November 14th.

MVBS and Pixouls of Rock Island, IL began extensive web site work earlier this year. It was good timing to take this step as with so many annual music festivals in 2020, MVBS had to cancel their annual Blues Festival which would have celebrated its 35th year.

“While it was unfortunate we had to cancel the 2020 Blues Fest in the interest of public safety, it gave us a chance to review our needs for the present and future to better serve our members and supporters”, said MVBS President, Bob Clevenstine.

The MVBS mission is to ensure the future of a uniquely American art form by fostering greater public appreciation through performance, education and preservation of the Blues Heritage.
